Gaceta Callejera: San Francisco Eviction Times

In 2013 Patrick Piazza and Art Hazelwood started printing Jose Guadalupe Posada inspired street broadside posters on the 100th anniversary of his death. These broadsides were focused on the most recent eveiction explosion in San Francisco. The enthusiasm that their first street printing generated led them to invite others to participate. The format has evolved to include a wide range of issues.

These broadsides use a border by Posada and often elements of his work. The series was begun on the 100th anniversary of his death. We've continued to periodically create new broadsides with more artists and print them at various places around San Francisco. Occasionally the subject veers away from eviction but mostly that is the focus.
